Located in the heart of the Historic Center, El Torito is a temple to street food that stands between Mexican fast food fare and more commercial restaurants. Their specialty is the tripe and sirloin tacos. A place for those versed in more unconventional cuts. Below the menu, their motto reads, “If you want beef, here it is.” Slow cooked over time (which helps to break down the tougher tissues), the tripe is browned on a hot griddle with the tortilla on top to hold in the heat, producing a unique flavor.
