Salón Corona

Salón Corona was founded in the Centro Histórico in 1928 selling only tortas and tacos. Over time it became a sanctuary for anyone who needed a break from the busy downtown streets to have a quiet beer. Nowadays, it's a popular cantina known for its lively ambiance and quality kitchen. The establishment is plastered with photographs of the numerous famous faces who have visited. Among those, one stand out photo captures the moment when diners watched Mexico star Hugo Sánchez miss a penalty kick in the 1986 World Cup.
