Mercado Churubusco

One of the favorite weekend activities of chilangos is, without a doubt, to have breakfast or lunch at the neighborhood market. In the case of Mercado Churubusco, a few blocks from central Coyoacán, its customers visit religiously to refresh themselves with aguas frescas, eat carnitas, transport themselves to Mérida with the delicious cochinita pibil or, if those options feel a bit heavy, visit the salad bar. Many of the regulars to this market found it by chance and were captivated by its food and the kind attention of the stallholders.
