La Lonja Ligera

John Montagu, 4th Earl of Sandwich, is rumored to be the creator of the sandwich (and its many derivatives), and La Lonja Ligera has turned his creation into a work of art. Sandwiches, tortas, bagels, chapatas, burritos and other variations of this marvelous invention are the house specialty. Located in San Angel next to Pabellón Altavista, here diners can enjoy a complete, balanced meal accompanied by a side of potatoes. Whether among bread or flour tortillas, their dishes go hand in hand with their motto, "made with love". A must try is the chicken bagel with chipotle dressing or the farmer's sandwich, accompanied by a refreshing agua fresca.
