Tacos Carnitas

El Venadito

A favorite in the south of Mexico City for generations, El Venadito has been offering carnitas, chicharrón, guacamole, mushroom soup and more for over 70 years. This Hidalgo-style carnitas joint is the self-proclaimed inventor of tacos de chiquita, a cut between the skin and the meat of the pig. It has the feeling of a hearty roadside diner, but in the city where diners can enjoy their food indoors, out on the huge back patio, or take it home to share.
