Located in the heart of Condesa, on the corner of Tamaulipas and Campeche, El Tizoncito is the creator of the taco al pastor. The story goes that, when Mrs. Concepción Cervantes opened her taqueria in 1966, she borrowed from the recipe for shawarma, replaced the lamb meat with pork, marinated it, cooked it on a spit and added pineapple for a tangy touch. The success of the tacos was such that it was replicated again and again, giving rise to one of the most emblematic foods of Mexico City.
