El Rey del Taco

This stand, on the corner of Coahuila and Mérida, has been selling tasty tacos for years to the late-night metro commuters. Armed with a grill and a steamer, the tacos here are always delicious. You can’t go wrong with any of the steak tacos, tacos al pastor, an alambre or even a torta. But what they are really known for are the tacos de machitos, which are wrapped in the small intestine of a ram, fried and served with tomato and avocado. Rich and intense, but nonetheless a delicacy almost forgotten by most Mexico City taquerias.
