El Rey del Pavo

Since 1910, when Ramón Avellaneda opened El Rey del Pavo, no one has served better turkey in the Historic Center, or, perhaps even, the entire city. Here, you’ll find juicy turkey in tacos, soups, salad, and, of course, the iconic tortas. They serve aguas frescas made from passion fruit, kiwi, strawberry, and mango. At Christmas time, and with an order placed in advance due to high demand, you can bring this specialty bird to your holiday table at home.
