El Pozole de Moctezuma
El Pozole de Moctezuma, located in Colonia Guerrero, is a restaurant with more than 75 years of tradition behind it. Founded in 1947 by Doña Balbina, this establishment has been a silent witness to a lot of the city’s history, from the earthquake in 1985 to the many marches and protests that have passed by its doors. Tended by the third and fourth generation of the family, its original seasoning is still intact. The white and green pozoles from Guerrero are the true stars of the show, although they are well accompanied by exquisite appetizers, such as the Tixtla-style chorizo tacos. This is a unique restaurant for customers are bequeathing the taste and tradition to future generations, because now it is the children and grandchildren who faithfully come to taste the pozole. It is, therefore, a flavor that is not forgotten.
