Danubio

Danubio takes its name from a German brewery that operated in the same location in the Historic Center until 1936, when José Aranguena Zatica and Victor Amundarain, both chefs of Basque origin, took it over to offer seafood dishes from their homeland cooked on a coal and wood stove. The walls are decorated with reviews, notes, and sketches from the famous clientele who have dined at its tables, a tradition started in 1983 by the poet Octavio Paz.
