Cru Cru

There is a tiny section of Roma that can only be reached via small alleys, La Romita. Those who know it may recognize it from a Luis Buñuel film, recall that there was a pre-Hispanic settlement and a monastery there, or that during a small window of the week (Thursday through Saturday) it is possible to visit the Cru Cru beer factory. The brick facade is camouflaged by the old houses surrounding it, with only a small metal cricket next to the door to guide the way. But once inside you’ll find all the necessary facilities for this successful company to maintain its production. They offer tours to learn about the process and ingredients involved in the preparation of their beers, as well as the possibility to sample them on the patio adorned by a mural.
