Cantina La Jalisciense
The city is filled with sites that generate intrigue because of the stories behind them. It is said that Renato Leduc was born in the house above La Jalisciense. That Don Francisco Liguori wrote three of his inmoralejas here. In addition to serving various distilled beverages, the soap opera Destilando Amor was filmed here. There are many anecdotes about this cantina, and the current ones combine with the gastronomy of the lonchería, a pleasant bar and food service throughout Tlalpan. They have a wide variety of drinks, from the simplest to the most refined. When ordering three drinks or four beers, they offer the diner snacks such as chicharrón, peanuts and vegetables with chile piquín. Their most distinguished dishes are beef tartar, daily stews, and shrimp soup. Cantina La Jalisciense, since 1870, with more than 151 years of history, is an excellent place to spend the afternoon with friends and drinks.
